chefs, and her own experiences in their kitchens in a lively and

Hercules Explosion April
12, 2005 at 7PM
On
September 12 in 1940 a series of explosions rocked the Hercules Powder Company
in Kenvil. Throughout the town,
windows were blown out, furniture knocked over and power and telephone lines
came down. The explosion was felt
in Poughkeepsie and recorded on the seismograph at Fordham University. The accident ultimately took the lives of 52 employees.
On Tuesday, April 12, 2005 Joanne Gardner, President of the Mount
Arlington Historical Society and a witness to the events, will tell the story of
this tragic day.
